Our Morning Show Genius Awards

AND OUR MARTIN IN THE MORNING GENIUS AWARDS GO TO . . . . . . .

Eighteen-year-old Malo Dashaunta Gomez, of Minnesota, who decided the best way to cure his boredom was to shoot off his gun. So, he saw some cops hanging out in a squad car and fired off nine rounds at them. Boredom problem solved? Not really; Gomez, now sitting in a cell in the local jail, is facing two counts of first-degree attempted murder and two counts of first-degree assault. If Gomez is convicted, he could face decades in prison ... which sounds kinda boring.

AND THEN THERE'S .....

Ronald Wade, 31, who applied for a job as a jailer and ended up being the jailee. Wade walked into a sheriff's department in Mississippi to apply for a job as a jailer. However, after a brief background check, authorities learned that Wade had an outstanding warrant for a DUI crash.

OR HOW 'BOUT .....

Florida man, Andrew John Biros, Jr., 28, who made prank 911 calls because he wanted law enforcement to have "a faster response to his residence." Biros called 911 three times in one week to report suspicious activities. He even called back to say he had been shot while waiting for officers who were en route from a previous call. Biros said, "They're not doing their job. That's poor public service." Biros was arrested for misusing the 911 system.

OKAY, ONE MORE .....

Three young Georgia teens, who broke into Roderick Ward's home, played around for a while and documented it all on his camera, which they left behind. Ward came home from a trip and became suspicious that his air conditioner was on and his door unlocked. He then discovered the teens had taken pictures of themselves eating birthday cake, washing a dog in his bathtub and using his toothbrush. Police identified the teens and contacted their parents. Several of Ward's belongings were returned by the embarrassed parents, including his spare house key. He will not be pressing charges. The teens will be grounded until they are about 35.
