Possible Suspect Arrested in Robberies
A Burlington, West Virginia man was arrested Sunday evening, and an investigation is being conducted, to determine if Gary Dale Hamilton was involved in two weekend robberies in Lonaconing. The two incidents occurred on Watercliff Street in Lonaconing. The first incident, on Saturday night, happened as a man in a ski mask entered the residence and demanded money. He fled when the victim told him she had nothing. The second incident, on Sunday night, resulted in the suspect fleeing with an undetermined amount of money. Hamilton was arrested at a home on St. Mary's Terrace in Lonaconing. He is being held on various drug charges.
Domestic Situation in Midland
The Allegany County Sheriff's Department responded to the 17,000-block of Old Dan's Rock Road in Midland Sunday evening for the report of a domestic situation. Twenty-five year old Jason Bernard Seib was arrested in connection with the incident. The Sheriff's Office had reported that a person had discharged a weapon at the home. Troopers from the Maryland State Police and Sheriff's Department chased a late model BMW from Route 36 to Interstate 68 Eastbound, into Cumberland and Ridgeley. During the pursuit, an Allegany County Sheriff's vehicle was hit twice. Seib was taken into custody there.
