Domestic Assault in Cumberland
A Cumberland woman was arrested Monday evening, following a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived at a residence on Avirett Ave. at 5:17PM. A man told them his ex-wife lives at the residence with him, and she assaulted him during an argument. Jeri Gough Officers then contacted the woman, 51 year old Jeri Gough, inside of the residence where she admitted to the altercation. Officers observed injuries to the victim consistent as to what had happened. Gough was placed under arrest and charged with Assault 2nd Degree. She was released on her personal recognizance pending trial in District Court.
Multiple Calls for A Domestic Dispute
Cumberland Police arrested a Grand Ave. man after repeated calls to his residence shortly before 1am yesterday. The victim advised that she had been arguing with 28 year old Joshua Darby over relationship issues. She advised Darby became upset and grabbed her by the throat. She was able to get away from him. Officers observed injuries to the victim consistent to what they had been told had happened. Darby was placed under arrest and charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Failure to Obey. He was released on his personal recognizance pending trial in District Court.
Assault on Police / CDS Arrest
Cumberland Police responded to a residence on Davidson St. for a report of a disturbance outside on the street just after 3am yesterday. They made contact with two men sitting in front of the house in a vehicle. They advised that a subject in the house was the problem. . That subject exited the residence, mumbled something to the officer and then pushed him attempting to get back in the house. The subject, identified at 41 year old Daniel Levon McQueen of Baltimore, resisted arrest which resulted in a brief struggle with the officers. A search revealed McQueen had 27 baggies of crack cocaine. Several marijuana cigarettes were located in the ash tray of the vehicle. 32 year old Darrell Kevin Young of Glen Burnie, MD was arrested for the possession of marijuana. Both face numerous drug charges, McQueen was held on $150,000 bond.
One person is dead and three other injured in a two vehicle crash early yesterday morning in Hagerstown. Police say the driver of one of the vehicles, 32 year-old Jeremy Wayne Peel Sr of Hagerstown, was transported to Meritus Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Three people in the other vehicle were also hospitalized, but the extent of their injuries is unknown. Police say charges are pending the results of their investigation. The accident occurred in the 600 block of Frederick Street at 1:44am yesterday.
