South Cumberland Fire Being Brought Under Control

Numerous units remain on the scene, due to a fire at 414 Grand Avenue in Cumberland. The Allegany County Office of Emergency Services reports the call was received, just before 10 a.m. Several fire companies from Cumberland, Cresaptown and Ridgeley are on the scene, along with Columbia Gas and other utilities. There is no word on injuries. Flames could be seen coming through the roof, as an aerial unit from the Cumberland watered down that area. A building, adjacent to 414 Grand Avenue, also sustained damage.
