Flooding, Rock Slides Result of “Sandy”

Numerous reports of localized flooding have come in from the westernmost regions of Allegany County. While Garrett County is reporting heavy, wet snow, some flooding has been reported in the Frostburg, Lonaconing, Shaft, Clarysville and Vale Summit areas. The heavy rains, as a result of the storm have caused at least two incidents of rock slides. One incident was reported earlier on Route 135, while a second was reported on Route 36. There are also reports of debris on the roads, as a result of extremely high winds. Drivers are urged to use caution when driving, if they have to go out at all.
