Due to this morning’s lightning strikes and accompanying thunderstorms,

Allegany College of Maryland will be closed until 2 p.m. The Allegany County

Office of Emergency Management reports outages in North End, South End,

the 911 center itself and the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. The

latter two are on generator power. The downtown Cumberland area has also

been affected. Again, Allegany College of Maryland will remain closed until 2

p.m.
