  All Day Barton Party in the Park   Party in the Park kicks off Friday August 8 at 6:00 pm. Come enjoy games, food, 5 cent bingo, contests and prizes! The cutest baby and little king and queen contest will also take place! *NEW this YEAR...join us after the festivities for a FREE MOVIE, remember bring something to sit on as you enjoy the movie!
The fun continues on Saturday, August 9th beginning at 7:00 am! Registration for the 5k run/walk will be at 7:00 am, with the run/walk starting at 8:00 am. Enjoy buffet breakfast at the Barton Firehall from 7-10 am! Be there to watch as the children parade the streets at 10:30 for the kiddie parade! Then the feature parade will follow with a start time of 11:00 am.
Join us at the little league field at 11:30 for the Opening Ceremony. The opening ceremony will be followed by announcement of contest winners, local entertainment, hula hoop and water balloon contest, ticket drawings! Also free bounce houses, snow cones, cotton candy and popcorn. Join us at 7:00 pm for 5 cent bingo!

  1:00PM n/a Aladdin Jr. auditions   Local youth theatre group Acting Out for ALS Research is holding auditions for their upcoming production of Disney's Aladdin Jr., to be staged at Keyser High School from November 14-16, 2014. Auditions are open to youth who will be in grades 6-12 in the 2014-15 school year. Frostburg- and Cumberland-area residents may audition from 1-6 pm on Saturday, August 9, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 1601 Frederick Street. Those in the Keyser area may audition from 1-6 pm on Sunday, August 10, at Grace United Methodist Church, 30 S. Mineral Street.
